  • India Semiconductor Association (ISA) Celebrates Women in Technology

    Bengaluru: The ISA’s Women in Technology Forum today organized a panel discussion on success, challenges and growth strategies for women in the technology sector. The panel discussion was inaugurated by Shukla Bose, Founder & CEO of Parikrma Humanity Foundation and a role model, who had made a successful transition into social entrepreneurship. The panel included seasoned industry experts like S Balajee, Director, Wireless IC Engineering (India),Texas Instruments India; Nirmala Kamath, Executive Vice President, Tata Sky Ltd; Anita M Biddappa, General Manager, ASICs & IP Development, IBM Systems and Technology Group India and Dr. Kiranmai Pendyala, Head HR, AMD India. The panel shared opinions on strategies to increase contribution of women in the electronics industry.

    Welcoming the participants, Poornima Shenoy, President, ISA said, “Indian women are playing a very crucial role in almost every industry today. In the electronics industry, we are seeing a lot of women choosing a career in engineering and opting for both in hardware and software. However, women comprise of less than 10% of the workforce in the electronics sector and there is a need to improve this. We at ISA are taking the first step in that direction.”

    Sharada Satrasala, Director, Texas Instruments India and Convener of the Forum said “This is one of the very few events targeted exclusively towards women in the technology sector and is aimed at helping women improve networking and share experiences.”
