  • Chennai : India’s Number 1 Renewable Energy event “RENERGY 2014” concluded today, brought together over 250 exhibitors, 2000 delegates and 20000 visitors, international experts and regulatory bodies from across the globe. The three day DSC_5418International Conference & Expo showcased a comprehensive exhibition and thought-provoking conference on Solar, Wind Energy, Waste to Energy, Biomass and Energy Efficiency covering the broad development and advancements in the Renewable Energy sector.

    RENERGY 2014 revealed various product launches and live demos under the same roof highlighting concepts and prevailing trends in the Renewable Energy fraternity across the world. Also, witnessed green facilities pavilion where factories, hotels, hospitals and other commercial units which communicated how to reduce their energy costs through the use of sustainable energy sources.

    The three day International Conference Expo was organised by Tamilnadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA) supported by Government of Tamil Nadu. This Expo witnessed participation from business visitors, international experts, and regulatory bodies from across the globe.

    Many prominent government officials from the state and centre participated, with the prominent ones including Thiru Natham R. Viswanathan, Hon’ble Minister for Electricity, Prohibition and Excise, Shri Tarun Kapoor IAS, Joint Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Thiru Rajesh Lakhoni IAS, Secretary, Energy, Government of Tamil Nadu, Shri Anil Jain IAS, Advisor (Energy), Planning Commission of India, Thiru. Sudeep Jain CMD, TEDA and regulatory bodies from across the globe in Chennai Trade Centre (CTC), Nandambakkam.

    The 3 day conference covered critical areas pertaining to Solar, Wind, Smart Grids, Green buildings, Bio-Energy etc. A parallel event to the conference was one-day solar training program for businesses and companies which was conducted by leading renewable energy companies such as SunEdison, L&T, SWELECT and EAI.

    The conference also observed India’s first Renewable Energy Career & Job Pavilion that allowed professionals and students to have productive interactive sessions with the industry experts, organisations and prominent companies which enlightened various career and research opportunities in renewable energy.

    Some of the key sponsors for RENERGY 2014 include SWELECT, SunEdison, Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers’ Association (IWTMA), Regen Powertech, Indian Overseas Bank, and Moser Baer.

    Overall, RENERGY 2014 received an overwhelming response success concluded with a mind-blowing CEO Conclave, “A revolutionary vision for the future of Renewal Energy” where the panelists discussed various challenges faced by the industry, incentives and initiatives to scale growth in Indian energy sector etc.
