  • ISKCON devotees organised Harinama Sankirtana procession for world peace

    Hyderabad :  The International Society for Krishna Consciousness(ISKCON) organised a Harinama Sankirtana here in city at Secunderabad on Sunday.  The procession of 500 plus Hare Krishna Devotees chanting bhazans began at Venkateshwara Swamy Temple at Koneru in Shivajinagar in Secunderabad and ISKCON Harinam Sankirtana Procession held in city for World Peacewent  around lanes of RP Road, Monda Market and concluded at Sri Sai Venayak Residency in Shivajinagar, Secunderabad.  The objective of this program was global peace, loka kalyanama, informed Mr. Venkateshwarlu, a devotee.

    The devotees chanting bhazans, devotional songs holding variety of placards walked through the by lanes of Secunderabad. Prasadam was also  distributed.

    The procession was organised under the leadership of Vedanta Chaitanya Das of ISKCON, abids.  Speaking on the occasion Vedanta Chaitanya said  world ISKCON devotees seenin going in procession chanting bhajans for global peace here in city todaypeace is the need of the hour.  We all need to live a peaceful life. Hence, this procession for “Loka Kalyanam”, he said.

    Speaking further he added that ISKCON has made a significant contribution to the intellectual, cultural, and spiritual life of contemporary man is obvious from the fact that people of all ages and of varying degrees of education and from many walks of life, students, teachers, scientists, servicemen, laborers, and professionals — indeed numerous race, creeds and nationalities — are attached towards it.
