Josephine Tan from Malaysia was crowned the winner of Supermodel International 2016 contest held on 21 March 2016 at Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon,

India.  It was for the very first time that Malaysia won this prestigious pageant. This very glamorous international culture exchange event also witnessed the crowning of four runners up, they were Alisa Manenok of Russia who was declared 1st Runner up, whereas Julia Pikkarainen from Finland was crowned 2nd runner up, Marina Dokic from Serbia was awarded with the 3rd Runner up title and Divya Saini from India was adjudged 4th runner up at the conclusion of the grand event.

This was the first time that such a big model search pageant was held in India. The pageant is run by Pradinunt Production Company Limited, based in Thailand, headed by Mr Pardit Pradinunt. This year this Thailand based international contest was produced by the Rubaru Group, based in Haryana, owned by Mr Sandeep Kumar. The 10 day-long pageant included grooming sessions delivered by experts, a series of tours and fashion shows.

The grand finale was graced by several prominent personalities from the showbiz and fashion industry, such as Anuj Lalwan, Biba Kohli. Manu, Rita Gangwani, Seema Medha, Sangeeta Chauhan, Varun Katyal, Ms Sudesh Chawla and many more.

The 29 candidates from all across the globe competed in different pageant segments, which included ‘Introduction section’, ‘Evening gown competition’ and ‘Swimsuit competition’. After these sub-competitions, top 15 candidates were announced at the grand finale. They were

Finland, Switzerland, Korea, Japan, Russia, Malaysia, USA, Kyrgyzstan, Ethiopia, Indonesia, Thailand, Netherlands, India, Serbia, Sri Lanka.

The evening also witnessed the crowning of the continental winners, the delegates who proved to be the best representative from each continent. The list of continental winners is as follows

Supermodel of Asia Pacific: Korea

Supermodel of Africa: Ethiopia

Apart from these awards, there were other several other awards given to the candidates who proved to be the best choice for that field. The award categories and winners were as follows.
