  • Kerala farmers can avail information on crops online from Nov 1st

    Farmers in Kerala can get all the information on major crops of the state, online from the 1st of November which happens to be Kerala Foundation Day.

    It is a Kerala day gift for farmers of God’s own country. From sowing methods to harvesting, farmers will get every bit of information online from 1st November. Thanks to the Centre for e-learning under the Kerala Agricultural University, it is earnest attempt to redefine the agri information system provided to the farming community. The CEL has set up a new bi-lingual agri Infotech portal which is a joint giant leap towards a complete agri information system online. The portal will help farmers in diagnosing and solving field problems at the click of the mouse.

    According to Dr.P.R.Gopalakrishnan, Director of Research at the Agricultural University, as all the tools are made available in English and Malayalam, they serve every farmer, researcher and extension agents personally. CEL is also planning e-courses on organic farming, processing of fruits and vegetables and plant propagation. The web portal will be formally launched by Agriculture Minister K.P.Mohanan this evening.
