Lavasa: Lavasa city, has won laurels, by bagging the prestigious ‘Best Eco Tourism Destination and ‘Best Convention Centre Western India award’ at the recently held Today’s Traveller Awards ceremony.

Union Minister of State for Tourism and Culture, Mr. Shripad Naik presented the awards to Mr. Rajiv Duggal Sr. Vice President Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure, Lavasa Corporation Limited and Mr. Anand Ganesan, General Manager, Novotel and Accor Cluster, Lavasa.

The awards were organized by the ‘Gill India Group’ took place at an elaborate event at The Ashok, New Delhi, on September 16, 2014. Institutionalized in 2007, it felicitates the outstanding achievers in the field of travel, tourism, hospitality and aviation. The high profile event in New Delhi saw a number of dignitaries from the corporate and the political arena in attendance.

Commenting on these achievements of Lavasa, Mr. Rajiv Duggal said, “We are extremely honored to receive the Award. It is an endorsement of Lavasa city as a premier tourist and MICE destination and an acknowledgment of international standard hospitality services offered at Lavasa City which are critical to the 365 day economy of the city”.

Over the past few years, Lavasa has seen an increase in tourist footfalls. The eclectic mix of urban facilities offered combined with picturesque locations have enabled Lavasa evolve into an important travel gateway.

The remarkable recognition adds to the award winning spree of Lavasa, which has recently won India Travel Award for ‘Best Tourist Attraction-Western India’,  ‘Best Integrated Tourism City in India’ award from TAAI and PATWA award for ‘Emerging Destination in India’ this year
