The band was formed in 2002 while each of its members were still in school. Over the years as they progressed through school and college competitions and evolving line-ups, they managed to develop a decent fan base. After playing numerous shows in many different venues, their original music started to become quite popular amongst their audience.

The band mostly performed in school and only decided to get serious after winning Pepsi Storm 2002 an interschool competition held at IIT Delhi. After school the band played a few shows and gained some popularity in the Delhi rock scene. However in late 2004, the band split up. Rahul & Shardul went on to form Joint Family and Rohan & John formed Vorpal Scythe. Bharat had a short stint with AVR during this period. The band came back with a bang in early 2006 minus Rahul & Shardul. Rohan took up guitars along with the vocals. The band is currently gigging with guest drummers from FTN and Half Step Down and is in the process of releasing an EP.

The band has a wide variety of seemingly unrelated influences which some say forms the basis of the uniqueness of their sound. Influences include Porcupine tree, Pearl Jam, Dream Theater, Alice In Chains, Creed, Nickelback, Crossfade, 12 Stones, Mr. Big, Van Halen, Steve Vai, Breaking Benjamin, Sevendust, Incubus, Story Of The Year, U2 and many more.

    Achievements:

As the band is known for its foot-tapping guitar riffs and melodic pop choruses, the word of their music began to spread.

In 2007, they were one of the 4 finalists in Channel [V] Launchpad, where they played in front a crowd of almost 10,000. Ever since then, they played at numerous prestigious music festivals such as ‘The Eastwind Festival’ and “The Great Indian Rock Festival”. In the summer of 2008, they played a country wide tour where they played in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Calcutta, Simla … to name a few.

Earlier this year, they signed with 44G Records and released an EP (Extended Play) titled ‘Not over yet’ in the month of April, which is being downloaded throughout the country and has managed to maintain the band’s No.1 position on the ‘Reverbnation Charts.’
As of now, they working on a full scale album, which will be released later this year on the same record label.

“CYANIDE, who finally came on, did a sort of pleasant acoustic thing,

getting their harmonies right with a nice easy listening sound” – Shana
