New office will support continued workforce growth and Lowe’s hybrid workforce strategy

Lowe’s India, the global capability center for Lowe’s Companies, Inc. (NYSE: LOW), today announced plans to open another office in Bengaluru in April. Combined with Lowe’s existing office in Manyata Embassy Business Park, the new facility on Lavelle Road in Bengaluru’s central business district will provide approximately 14,000 square feet of additional space to support Lowe’s India’s growing workforce and continued hybrid workforce strategy.

“Since the onset of the pandemic, we have seen increased demand from our customers across all selling channels, and we continue to invest in our omni-channel capabilities as we accelerate our online business and drive momentum with our Total Home Strategy,” said Seemantini Godbole, Lowe’s Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. “This expansion of our India operations will enable our teams to continue to grow and provide unique capabilities across our engineering, analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, product management, merchandising, supply chain, marketing, finance and accounting functions, and more. The India team has been pivotal in building and rolling out key tech solutions and business capabilities that have driven Lowe’s growth and helping us provide excellent customer service.”

Lowe’s India’s associate count has grown 60 percent during the pandemic to more than 3,600 employees across both technology and business services roles. The company expects to continue to grow the Bengaluru workforce to support Lowe’s ongoing business transformation in the U.S. and Canada.

“Our associates remain at the heart of everything we do as we continue to make improvements and invest in our technology, business areas and real estate,” said Ankur Mittal, Lowe’s India’s Managing Director and Senior Vice President of Technology.

“The new office space in the heart of the city is a testament to our phenomenal growth and will offer enhanced flexibility to our associates in the new hybrid work world.

We are focused on creating a safe, open, inclusive and productive work environment where our associates can learn, grow and thrive. With the learnings that we’ve gained through the pandemic, we are moving to a hybrid workforce model that will meet the needs of our business and workforce, now and into the future. Our hybrid model is another positive step in our journey to become one of the world’s best-in-class retailers and retail GCCs in India; it will enable us to sustain innovation, engagement and productivity in the long term, beyond the pandemic.”

Lowe’s hybrid workforce model is centered around the foundational pillars of flexibility, empowerment, engagement and agility. The company continuously strives to create better experiences for associates, at work and in life, giving them significant opportunities to contribute and excel.  Candidates interested in building a thriving career can explore and apply for open positions matching their interest and skillsets on Lowe’s India’s career site.
