Madrid Fusion is held annually in Madrid, Spain and is attended by elite chefs and experts in the culinary field to discuss trends, the evolution of tastes, and the new food habits. The Philippines Department of Tourism inked an agreement with Arum Estrategias Internationalizacion, S.L. and Foro de Debate S.L., the legal owner of the Madrid Fusion trademark on July 23, 2014 to jointly organize the first ever Madrid Fusion in Asia. Philippine President Benigno S. Aquino III also witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the holding of the event in Manila in 2015 between the Philippines Department of Tourism and the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness in the Kingdom of Spain (ICEX) last 14 September 2014 in Madrid, Spain by Secretary Ramon R. Jimenez, Jr. and Hon. Jaime Garcia – Legaz of ICEX.

Madrid Fusion-Manila 2015 will feature the Gastronomy Congress and the Trade Exhibition. There will also be nationwide month-long Flavors of the Philippines Festival in April to complement Madrid Fusion-Manila. For the first edition, the event is envisioned to highlight an encounter between Spanish and Filipino chefs to celebrate more than 300 years of shared history. For the Gastronomy Congress, our target is to have 1,400 participants: 700 foreign delegates and 700 Philippine delegates. We are targeting more than 170 exhibitors from Spain and the Philippines for the Trade Exhibition.
