  • Maharashtra Tourism announces of launching a tourism portal at Global Kokan Festival

    Navi Mumbai : Maharashtra Tourism has come up with a novel initiative which would give a boost to the tourism in DSC_4791Kokan and other parts of Maharashtra. Ms Kishori Gadre, General Manager of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has announced that the Corporation will soon launch a tourist centric web portal.

    “Tour operators, hoteliers and even the Home Stays and Bed & Breakfast scheme promoters of Maharashtra will be able to put up their details on the portal. This will resolve the issue of updating of information by MTDC forever. Moreover, there will not be errors and the respective stakeholder can upgrade the information, photographs, contact details etc. as and when required,” Ms Gadre said while addressing at the interactive session with tourism industry people from all parts of Kokan at the ongoing Global Kokan Festival.

    This micro site will help tourists to directly access all information pertaining to travel and stay options. Moreover, MTDC will also float an Expression of Interest (EOI) inviting details of tour operators and resorts which will be shared with the potential tourism partners at national and international levels. MTDC is engaged into promotion of tourism through roadshows and events in other parts of country and globally where the foreign counterparts seek such details. “This will bridge the gap and direct businesses can be established by the tour operators.” She also invited suggestions from the tourism industry of Kokan to improve the services and facilities for improving their business operations.

    Shri Ganesh Naik, Honourable Excise and Guardian Minister of Maharashtra and Shri Sanjeev Naik, Member of Parliament, are the prominent personalities of bringing the current edition of Global Kokan Festival in Navi Mumbai. Global Kokan Festival 2013-14 is being organized in cooperation with Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) and BANM-Credai Navi Mumbai Property Exhibition 2013.

    Navi Mumbai is one of the most developed urban city of India and which is also a gateway of Kokan. Global Kokan Festival has many other attractions like 3-D photo exhibition and exhibition of aerial photographs of Kokan. Real estate opportunities, tourism opportunities in Konkan and products from Kokan are also the part of mega exhibition.
