    Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority has once again taken lead in its promotions in India market, by expressing its faith and looking to L-R Director MTPA Minister of Tourism Republic of Mauritius Permanent Secretary Ministry of Tourismenhance its arrivals from India. The Authority feels India continues to be its prominent source market and would continue to grow in near future and will be able to overcome the current economic issue soon.

    Associating with Lakmé Fashion Week, MTPA makes Mauritius as first destination to be associated with Indian fashion world through Lakme Fashion Week and targeting fashion industry and consumers who have bent towards being in fashion and looking good. MTPA strongly believes that a visit to Mauritius for a holiday can rejuvenate the mind, body and soul and can make you feel good and refreshed. The fresh and pure environment of Mauritius will fill you with energy and make you look beautiful and healthy.

    In a first of its kind partnership with Mauritius Tourism, designer Ranna Gill displayed the beautiful art forms of the tropical destination through a highly fashionable depiction. The entire concept is about looking comfortable and fashionable when on a holiday.

    Minister of Tourism, Republic of Mauritius – Hon. Michael Sik Yuen said, “he has faith in the Indian market potential and are targeting new segment from Indian market for Mauritius. We are looking at the trendy and young generation.  We had tied up with renowned Indian designer Ranna Gill for the promotion during Lakmé Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2013. Her collection-showcased plethora of colours and designs influenced by contrast of multitude of colours of the island, set in its

    turquoise sea, aptly named as Resort Collection. We are extremely overwhelmed by the response and look forward for further building this association.”

    The fashion week was witnessed by various people from across the globe and by many renowned fashion designers.So, it was a golden opportunity to bring the spotlight on Mauritius through designer collection as the destination is synonymous with luxury and stupendous extravagance.

    Dr. Karl Mootoosamy, Director, MTPA said, “Mauritius is a unique destination which showcases an array of beautiful landscapes and stunning beaches. Mauritius, being synonymous to fashion, glamour and luxury, it is great opportunity to be part of Lakme Fashion Week. Fashion and travel both are aspirational aspects of life.
