Mumbai : The Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry, the representative body of real estate industry, has won the prestigious award “Organisation of the Year” for the PR Excellence.

Instituted by Public Relations Council of India, The Chanakya Awards are given annually for outstanding achievements. This year the event was held during the 6th Global Conclave hosted by the Mumbai Chapter of PRCI.

Mrs. Rajashree Birla, Chairperson, Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development, presented the award to MCHI on whose behalf Ms. Shehnaaz  Khambatta, General Manager – PR & Corporate. Communication, received the award in the presence of Veteran journalist Mr. H.K. Dua, Maharashtra DGP Mr. K.Subramaniam, Mr. B.N Kumar, Global PR Conclave Chairman, Mr.  M.B. Jayaram, Chairman Emeritus & Chief Mentor, PRCI

In its announcement PRCI said, “The relentless campaign by MCHI to ensure transparency in all realty deals has been widely appreciated and all its associate units and developer members have accepted the code of conduct formulated by it. MCHI has been championing the cause of home seekers, apart from working for the welfare of its member developers.”

PRCI said: “In Fact, MCHI has even taken initiatives to ensure that the properties sold by its members are hassle-free and have all necessary legal clearances. It has coined the slogan MCHI Hai Toh Bharosa Hai to send across the message for confidence to buyers. This has been evident from the recent property exhibitions that MCHI hosted in Mumbai and the suburbs. MCHI, formed in 1982, is the most prominent and the only recognized body of real estate Developers in Mumbai and MMR.
