Godrej India Culture Lab is excited to join hands with the world famous Mir Mukhtiyar Ali and Mathias Duplessy (of Peepli Live and Finding Fanny fame) along with Ramesh Kumar for a spectacular fusion music performance on Friday 20th February 2015! This event is organized in collaboration with the French Embassy in India, the Institut Français Inde and Shanti Travel.com.

Mathias Duplessy from France plays a dozen of instruments and is fond of the strings; between flamenco, oriental, classical music or gypsy jazz, his style is unique and full of energy. He started working with Sufi Indian singer Mir Mukhtiyar Ali six years ago and soon realized they had a common language in music.

Mir Mukhtiyar Ali belongs to the 26th generation of the Merasi community which has successfully kept alive the oral tradition of Sufiana Qalam. He enthralls audiences, with his unique blend of Rajasthani folk, Kabir and Sufi music. The two musicians created a style of their own, which was inspired by Rajasthani folk, flamenco, blues, reggae, African, Japanese and Mongolian music.

So come and experience this musical ecstasy at the electrifying concert ‘From Asian deserts to Andalusia’ that will reverberate at all corners of the Godrej India Culture Lab!
