Good health of children and women is a must for creating a healthy India. The idea has been a driving force behind the initiatives taken by Modi government in the health sector.

One such major step is Mission Indradhanush Immunization drive which covers (ALFA PGX) children under 2 years of age and pregnant women. Vaccination on demand is also provided to children up to 5 years of age.

The campaign provides protection against seven life-threatening diseases – diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, tuberculosis, measles and hepatitis B.

Vaccination centers are being set up in villages itself, so as to make facilities available in their proimity. In Amethi district, a total of 1584 children have been vaccinated in 20 villages, against the target of 1504 children.

Similarly, a total of 438 women were vaccinated as against the target of 408 women, which shows the steady progress of the program.

Four phases of Mission Indradhanush have already been completed in 528 districts across the country.

About 3 crore children and around 80 lakh pregnant women have been vaccinated under Mission Indradhanush so far.
