Moderate to heavy rain was recorded in several parts north India including national capital late night yesterday. According to Indian Meterological Department, an intense western disturbance along with induced cyclonic circulation is affecting Western Himalayan region and plains of northwest India and due its influence, widespread rain and heavy snowfall is going on over Western Himalayan region with rainfall and hailstorm in northern parts of the country. The weatherman said, squally weather with wind speed reaching 40 to 50 kilo metre per hour gusting to 60 kilo metre per hour  is expected  over equatorial Indian Ocean adjoining southwest Bay of Bengal. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into these areas.

Rain and wind has helped in improving air quality in the city. The air quality, which was severe on Sunday, improved to very poor on Monday and further improved to poor category this morning. Air Quality Index was recorded 205 at 6 AM today. MeT officials said, light to moderate rain and thundershowers with hailstorm is expected in the city today. The maximum and minimum temperature  in the city will hover around 20 and 11 degree celcius.
