Hyderabad: The present scenario of our education system focuses more on rote-based learning, rather than concentrating on providing real time knowledge. School students do not have learning platforms to develop their creative thinking abilities or encouraged to explore science concepts.
In an attempt to bridge this gap, through an innovative, exploratory and scalable manner, Experifun, India’s first Science gadget company, has launched many gadgets that bring interaction of science concepts with real objects around to demystify science and make learning effective for teachers and students alike in classrooms.
Rakesh Kumar, Co-founder, Experifun said, “In our classrooms, science is taught like history – students are ‘told’ about the concepts but don’t get to explore, experience or challenge! Our labs encourage children to find and verify what is written in the book rather than explore and challenge concepts. With Experifun, we have set out to create learning platforms to bring exploration capabilities to teachers and students in addition to ensuring affordability and suitability like cost, quality and reach-ability to rural schools in India.”
In fact schools are cozying up to the idea of real time learning and adopting newer ways to provide education to our children. Experifun has partnered with over 20 schools in Hyderabad including Sage school, Seed school, Vishwam Edutech, Neeraj public school etc. where children are provided with these gadgets to demystify Science and make learning easy and fun. While these schools are shaping and changing the way Science is taught in classrooms, Experifun is in talks with other schools in Hyderabad for similar partnerships for the next academic year.
Experifun currently has a presence in more than 10 states and over 100 schools in India and has established its global presence as well. The company also has plans to foray into the retail sector with its cutting-edge technology offerings including its game based learning products etc. targeting students, parents and teachers.
“We at Experifun intend to inculcate the culture of prompting questions and helping students find answers by their own or in groups in a discovery model of teaching and learning. It nurtures the ‘scientist’ within and encourages them to verify textual knowledge. Its USP lies in allowing teachers to deliver curriculum core learning in a radically different way, in sync with the school’s curriculum. We have designed the innovative product keeping in mind its application in rural and tribal schools and the affordability and ease of deployment aspects,” said Vivek Pandey, Co-founder, Experifun.
Started in 2012, Experifun designs and develops curriculum-based affordable, innovative and exploratory gadgets and products for students from grades 6 to 10. The founders of Experifun – Vivek Pandey and Rakesh Kumar, have indigenously developed these unique gadgets that will help students tide over rote learning and demystify science for them.
