  • Mr. M Mahendar Reddy (DGP) kicks off Synchrony’s 2nd ‘Goals for Girls’Leadership Summit in Hyderabad

    Hyderabad : Synchrony , a premier consumer financial services company will host a five-day “Goals for Girls” Leadership Summit in Hyderabad. The Summit is focused on equipping girls with life and leadership skills to help them realize their potential. Designed to provide a unique platform for girls to gain confidence, the program helps the girls feel empowered to break through cultural and socio-economic barriers and create change. The Summit was kicked off by Mr. M Mahendar Reddy (IPS) Director General of Police, Telangana along with Mr. Andy Ponneri, SVP, Business Leader,Synchrony, trainers, students and other leaders from Synchrony.

     

    This year, more than 15 Synchrony volunteers, along with five trainers from Goals for Girls, will work with 40 girls from diverse backgrounds and different government schools from Hyderabad, Warangal, Siddipet and Adilabad. The Leadership Summit enables the girls to discuss challenges that exist in their communities and help them gain confidence to make positive changes in society.

     

    Following the event, the girls will continue to work with Synchrony volunteers on a change-project, which will be designed to address the issues of the local communities and help drive improvement for socio-economic development in the region.

     

    Mr. Andy Ponneri, SVP, Business Leader – India, Synchrony, said, “The Goal for Girls initiative complements our efforts at Synchrony to train and empower women in areas where we live and work to assume higher responsibilities, positively impact their communities and become self-reliant.”

     

    Adding to this Mr. M Mahendar Reddy (IPS) Director General of Police, Telangana said, “I am delighted to witness the energy on the field at the Goal for Girls Leadership summit by Synchrony. I hope girls take back the learnings and become change agents in their communities and help make Telangana better.Through this initiative, Telangana police will be able to reach out to the girls from the economically backward strata of the society and will extend all possible support in their endeavor.”

     

    Through the Synchrony Families That Work philanthropic program, the company supports initiatives that help working families to push their lives forward and to change what’s possible. Synchrony Families That Work has made important charitable contributions to the Hyderabad community through varied projects focused on economic security, special programs and training and community outreach. Synchrony as a part of this initiative has been conducting regular programs with Telangana Police on People Friendly and effective policing.
