  • Musical Performance to present a Unique Fusion of World Percussions and Jazz with Sufi, Ghazals and Indian Classical Music

    Hyderabad : Hydourite , an initiative celebrating the spirit of Hyderabad  invites you to welcome Sivamani 1the New Year with a Big Bang with a performance by Sivamani and team. The musical program ‘New Life’ will present a unique fusion of world percussions and Jazz with Sufi, Ghazals and Indian Classical Music on Saturday, 4th January, 2014 from 8 pm onwards at PBEL City, Near APPA Junction. The performance will feature internationally renowned wiz-percussionist Sivamani, Singer Runa Rizvi and the fastest Indian on keyboards Stephen Devassy. The entry to the event is free.     New Life is the brainchild of Kalaimamani Sivamani, the man behind most of the hits of the genius A.R.Rahman, & versatile singer Runa Rizvi who has mesmerized audiences with her serene & powerful voice at concerts & recordings with Jagjit Singh, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, A.R Rahman (title track of the film ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na), Salim Sulaiman, etc. Runa Rizvi is the daughter of Ghazal Maestro Rajkumar Rizvi. Keyboard player Stephen Devassy is hailed as a child prodigy. He has 2 major records still unbroken in Asia, that of completing the 8th grade in Piano of the Trinity College at the youngest age of 16, and also scoring the highest score by an Asian in the same. Besides being a most sought after Music Producer, he is A.R Rahman’s keyboardist for all his major International concerts.

    ‘New Life’ is an attempt to combine the essence of Sufi Music, Ghazals & Folk with melodious Jazz harmonies and the all powerful Indian Classical & World Percussions, forming an irresistible, alluring musical experience. All in all it will bring a brand new sound to the traditional Sufi, Ghazal & Indian folk format, without taking away its essence.
