  • NASSCOM recognizes Bangalore based iPublishCentral on List of “Top 8 SaaS Apps”

    Published on June 1, 2011

Bengaluru: NASSCOM, a global trade body of more than 1,200 member companies that have a presence in India, has recognized the iPublishCentral digital publishing platform from Impelsys as one of the top 8 SaaS-based apps in its 2011 product showcase.

The “NASSCOM EMERGE-Product Showcase” recognizes the top companies that have developed innovative applications. The process culminates at NASSCOM’s annual EMERGEOUT, a conference scheduled for June 7th in Chennai, India.

iPublishCentral is a full-service electronic publishing solution that allows publishers to market their content as eBooks, online journals and other electronic products. The platform gives publishers all the tools they need to manage and monetize their digital assets without making significant development investments on their own.

In April 2011, the company garnered widespread coverage in the U.S. publishing trade media surrounding the introduction of iPublishCentral 3.0, a new version of its technology platform that has revolutionized the way publishers sell and distribute digital content on the Web

According to the NASSCOM judges: “iPublishCentral is a one-stop digital publishing infrastructure solution that allows publishers to drive their marketing, delivery and distribution strategies online through a Software as a Service (SAAS) model. It is an easy-to-use, one-stop cloud infrastructure solution that offers faster deployment with no significant investments. The solution is well suited for publishers who are on a digital exploration, who can now have a full fledged digital strategy in place, with minimal time and cost investments.”

The NASSCOM product showcase selection procedure is rigorous, based on various parameters such as uniqueness of the product, number of customers, marketability, India-focus, performance and usability. During the selection process, 25 companies qualified for the product showcase, 16 were “shortlisted” to demonstrate their product in a seven-minute online presentation, and the judges selected the top eight apps for the final list.

“We are gratified and honored by this latest recognition from our peers in the information technology industry,” said Sameer Shariff, founder and CEO of Impelsys. “Our iPublishCentral platform has been attracting praise from customers and industry observers alike for its innovative features, including our new ‘Book as an App’ framework that helps publishers quickly create enhanced, customized eBook apps at a reduced cost. The future of digital publishing is bright indeed and we’re proud to be playing an important role in this exciting transformation.”
