    Published on August 19, 2023

Normet has made an equity investment in Swiss company Motics, a specialist of electric driveline solutions. Through this and other innovative investments, Normet continues to pave the way for cleaner and more sustainable underground mining and tunnelling.

Aliva Equipment, which was acquired by Normet in 2022 from Sika SG, and Motics’ collaboration goes back to 2020 with the development of an electric powerline for mobile Aliva 520 concrete sprayer as its spearhead solution. Normet’s investment supports the continued growth of Motics and provides Normet with the opportunity to expand electrification in its existing and future products.

“The investment is part of our strategy to expand our offering in electrification in mining and tunnelling. With Motics’ technology expertise Normet is expanding its knowledge and scaling up its electrification efforts,” comments Ed Santamaria, President and CEO at Normet.

“Motics is excited about Normet’s investment, as it will provide us with significant growth opportunities. With Normet’s support, we can expand our technological expertise, scale our electrification solutions, and tap into new markets, driving our company’s growth. This partnership will propel Motics forward, enabling us to reach more customers and accelerate the adoption of sustainable and innovative electric driveline solutions,” says Christoph Fässler, Co-founder of Motics.
