Oil dips on record surge in Covid-19 infections

Oil prices today dropped on a record daily rise in global coronavirus cases with big spikes in infections over the weekend in the United States while traders await an OPEC technical meeting expected to recommend an easing of supply cuts.
In intra-day trade, Brent crude prices were trading around 42 dollars and 80 cents per barrel while WTI crude prices were around 40 dollars and 10 cents per barrel.
