    Published on October 30, 2013

Olympus Imaging India Pvt. Ltd. today announced the launch of the STYLUS 1, their flagship compact, globally. This Olympuscompact camera with professional image quality is touted to be a gamechanger in the way people look at compact cameras. With the launch of the Stylus 1, Olympus marks its entry into the premium category of imaging in India.

The camera, priced at INR 44,990/–, boasts highly powerful elements such as a f2.8 constant aperture 28-300mm i.Zuiko digital lens with 10.7x zoom, high definition Electronic View Finder,  built in Wi-Fi and OM-D style shooting, with all of this packed into an ultra-slim body, which has been the epitome of excellence from Olympus.

The compact digital camera market is currently degrowing across the world and yet, in such climes, models with a large imaging sensor, bright lens, premium high image quality and performance, and models with a high magnification which cover a wide range of shooting conditions, remain global bestselling hits for Olympus. Olympus has thus taken the bull by the horns and introduced a compact camera which fulfills the dream of capturing professional images.

This comes close on the heels of the launch of their OM-D E-M1 which is touted to be a ‘DSLR killer’, says Mr. Kenichiro Mori, Managing Director, Olympus Imaging India Pvt. Ltd., “We have decided that any and every camera that we launch will change the way India looks at imaging. The E-M1 is a camera that has been internationally accepted as the next level of unmatched quality, and with the Stylus 1, we intend to bring to Indian shores the satisfaction of professional photography in a compact body”, continuing, “our faith in India’s growth potential has become even stronger with the acceptance of our mirrorless flagship OM-D E-M1 which was launched last month. We have witnessed a 10% half yearly growth from April to September, 2013. With the launch of the Stylus 1, we are expecting to exceed estimated growth targets in 2 years.”
