Mumbai :  To combat the rising plague of contaminated vegetables and fruits, and create awareness about Organic products and brands, Mumbai based ‘Organic Pick’ is organizing a awareness campaign aptly called, “Organic Walk”. Around 20 farmers from Junnar region of Maharashtra will be participating in this first of its kind event to be held in Thane at The Walk, Hiranandani Estate, Thane (W) on 20th and 21st October 2018. The entry to the event is “Free”. A special panel discussion on the benefits and the effects of heavy metal contamination on food produce will be held where eminent speakers like Dr Sheetal Mhamunkar, a veteran Clinical and Sports Nutritionist along with Dr Kavita Ganesh from Organic Pick, and a leading oncologist will speak on relevant topics.

Milind Vaidya shared “Idea behind the Organic Walk hosted by Organic Pick, is to bring the best produce to the consumers and to create a direct market for the farmers at the only organic farmers market this weekend. Dr Kavita Ganesh Organic Pick, adds “We organise free awareness camps on every Sundays at our centre towards ensuring we live a healthier life.”

The objective of the Organic market is to provide pesticide-and-fertilizer -free vegetables, fruits, cereals, millets, food ingredients etc to the consumers. Also, Organic Pick aims to bring together the farmers and consumers directly in contact with each other as the produce can be sold direct to the consumer and farmer can benefit directly from it.

20 farmers from Junnar will be bringing their best produce to woo the people in Thane and surrounding areas. An extensive product range, right from Vegetables, fruits, daily day to day kitchen needs, bath & body products, baked items will be exhibited during this 2 day market. Thaneites will be able to buy fresh straight from the farm produce at subsidized rates at the Organic Market. Salad making workshop, kids activities, and more is in store for health freaks and concerned parents for the kids.
