Bangalore: Pearson Schools, part of world’s leading learning company, Pearson, in association with Shishya BEML School and Dance-with-sports-porps-4Tattva School and celebrated inter-school Independence Day cultural fest – ‘TIRANGAA 2015’. The theme for this year was ‘Saluting India’s Sports Heroes’ and was aimed to ignite the spirit of sports and nurture the essence of patriotism in the students. The fest was attended by close to 662 students from more than 26 Schools across Bangalore. Some of the schools like Delhi Public school, Maharshi center of Excellence, Thyagaraju Central School, Chitrakoota School, Bethel India Mission School, St Bennedict School participated in the event.

India has always been actively into sports and is universally known as the birth place of Kabbadi, Kho Kho and many such games.  The current theme – ‘Saluting India’s Sports Heroes’ was chosen to bring awareness amongst the young students about the great Indian sportsmen and draw inspiration from their lives.  The fest featured a range of indoor and outdoor games for students, including hurdles, snake and ladder, hopscotch, tug of war, crossword, quiz, relay etc.

“Pearson Schools has been celebrating Tirangaa for the last couple of years and has received remarkable response. We believe in maintaining a balance between sports and academics and hence the theme of this year revolves around rekindling the ‘spirit of sports’. Such inter-school fests not only provide students a challenging and enterprising learning environment, but also help them to relax and understand their true potential when it comes to physical activities” said Mr. Jairam Balaskrishnan, Director, Pearson Schools.

‘TIRANGAA’ was conceptualized by Pearson Schools in line with its vision of tapping the hidden talent in every child. The event which is organized every year on the occasion of Independence Day provides a fun inter-school platform for children to compete and exhibit their skills, within their respective age groups.
