Taking “Amritsar Sparkling”, AlphaOne’s monthly hygiene and cleanliness drive to the next level, AlphaOne has now Amritsari students interacting with AIESEC students at the Global Village 2013 at AlphaOneintroduced “Be The Change Club”, the next step towards larger youth development and social wellness in Amritsar.

In association with AIESEC, AlphaOne had a sparkling and a socially enriching event, ‘Global Village 2013’, with over 13 interactive international counters placed at AlphaOne from participating countries like, China, Denmark, Russia, Brazil, Colombia, Romania, Taiwan, Czech Republic, Vietnam and Egypt. 40 international students gathered here to showcase their respective culture and way of life. They put up dances, sang, played music, and put up performances that best described their culture. In return, they learnt facets of the Amritsari culture. This uniquely interactive Event took place on Sunday, July 28, 2013.

Speaking from Delhi, Dr. Prodipta Sen, Executive Director & Head of Retail, Alpha G:Corp shared, “2 years back AlphaOne, took on the responsibility of a sustainable and effective monthly cleanliness drive of Amritsar along with the Mayor’s office and the Municipal Authorities via, ‘Let’s Make Amritsar Sparkling’. This initiative has mobilized Amritsaris and ‘Be the Change Club’ being the next level of the initiative, we invite every Amritsari’s participation to take it forward for all of us.The idea behind organizing Global Village 2013 was to promote multicultural awareness and to bridge gaps between countries by healthy cultural exchange of ideas amongst students. We hope that such initiatives will act as a bridge towards internships abroad for ‘Be The Change’ members.”

There are already over 75 students from Amritsar who actively accompany the AlphaOne team as part of the Amritsar Sparkling cleanliness drive. The event marked the first such CSR initiative where Be the Change Club will bring individuals and institutions together to contribute to the very need of POSITIVE CHANGE in the Holy city in the areas of youth development, cleanliness, drug de-addiction, education and upliftment of the underprivileged.

AIESEC also organized a similar Global Village event in Jallandhar on September 25, 2012. These events celebrate diversity through myriad International cultures; coupled with Global cuisine, International music, art and dance, informational exhibits, and many activities and competitions that provide an interactive platform to students.

After the Global Village Event, there was more fun in store for customers and revelers in the evening as AlphaOne paid tribute to the legendary maestro Padam Shri Mohammad Rafi on his 33rd Death Anniversary by organizing ‘Talash-e-Rafi’, also on July 28th. Amritsaris thoroughly enjoyed the coming together of the singing talent of the singers, who reminisced and revisited by singing many evergreen melodious songs of Mohammad Rafi.

AlphaOne as a destination point will remain involved with several initiatives that qualitatively and quantitatively contribute to the betterment of societal welfare. In this regard, the association with AIESEC will give AlphaOne’s CSR activities a further boost as AIESEC would in the future also contribute with Lead Sessions and Personality Development & Mentor Programs as AlphaOne’s Knowledge Partner for many future CSR events at AlphaOne.
