PLYMOUTH, MA: Plymouth resident Howard Freedman, founder of the firm Financial Aid Consulting, today announced the release of his second book. “Making College Happen – What it Takes to Pay for College” now available on amazon.com

Freedman is a veteran college financial aid consultant and author with a passion for helping future generations to obtain a college degree. Making College Happen-What It takes to Pay for College was written as an updated version of his first publication, with a goal of further helping families realize  when it makes academic and financial sense to pursue a college degree, and/or career training or deciding on other  alternatives. This book guides its readers   through the journey and seeks to help families improve communications, while developing long term strategies to satisfy student debt obligations and career goals.

Freedman notes “Paying for college and repaying student loans has become a hot topic on the campaign trail. However, it does not address whether every dollar to attend college is covered beyond tuition. That is why paying for college will always be a financial challenge.” The author emphasizes that completing financial aid forms provides a good jump start for obtaining federal loans and some financial aid, but that it is only a beginning of a more challenging process.  Freedman takes readers through a longer term and realistic approach to simplifying the complexities and angst of paying for college resulting and providing a greater sense of optimism.

Making College Happen What It Takes to Pay for College is not simply about completing forms or how to find an “easy” scholarship. It is written for families to face and resolve realistic challenges   without information overload. The book is described as getting to the point in a user friendly and story like manner for families to all be on the same page. “I intended it as a well-planned roadmap filled with true horror stories to avoid, ways to effectively communicate and plan, and finding employment amongst its many other valuable topics.  It encourages each family to stay on track and making informed rather than impulsive decisions,” said Freedman.
