  • PM dedicates to nation Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal; Says, Indian army does not speak but shows its valour

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said, the government have fulfilled the promise of OROP while other governments only made shaurya-smaraktall claims but never fulfilled them.

    Addressing ex-servicemen and relatives of martyrs at Shaurya Samman Sabha in Bhopal, Mr Modi asserted that the army does not believe in speaking but in displaying its valour. India has never attacked another country for annexing it, the army has only defended its land.

    The Prime Minister said, Indian army is a great example of humanity. Mr. Modi said that during times of natural calamities, army has always come to rescue of affected people.

    Referring to the floods in 2014 in Srinagar, the Prime Minister said, the army personnel did their duty without any prejudice or discrimination in the state. He said, Indian army comes first in the world on different parameters like discipline and behavior.

    Mr. Modi said, Indian army has given maximum contribution in the world in the Peace Keeping Force. Referring to martyrdom of over one lakh fifty thousand Indians in the first and second world wars, he said that it is needed to keep the world reminded of sacrifice of our forefathers.

    The Prime minister expressed hope that India will soon become self reliant in the field of defence. He reiterated that the army doesn’t speak but shows its valour.

    Mr. Modi later met Jain seer Acharya Vidhyasagar Maharaj at Habibganj Jain Temple. The Prime Minister dedicated the newly built war memorial Shaurya Smark to public.

    The Smarak has been built by the Madhya Pradesh government on an about 13 acres campus. Various stages of life, war, death and victory over death have been displayed here. Besides this, tradition of Indian Soldiers’ valour and history has been exhibited in the Shaurya gallery.
