The Prime Minister interacting with IPS Probationers through video conferencing today asked the probationers to be proud of the uniform of Police personnel and said the human face of Khaki uniform has been engraved in the public memory due to the good work done by police specially during the COVID-19 pandemic. He said, the IPS in their profession always must be vigilant and prepared for some unexpected things and asked them to speak to their near and dear like their teachers and to reduce stress.

Earlier, as many as 131 IPS probationers including 28 women  completed their two-year long training at the academy. The Passing Out Parade was commanded by the best all round probationer, Kiran Shruthi of Tamil Nadu Cadre. It is the fourth time in the academy’s history that a lady officer is commanding the parade.

About 58 per cent of the IPS Probationers are Engineers while 10 per cent have science education background and 23 per cent have degrees in Arts and Commerce. According to the NPA Director, a maximum of 15 probationers have been allocated to Uttar Pradesh, followed by 11 to Telangana.
