  • PM Modi launches 50 development projects worth over Rs 1,200 crore at Varanasi

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that this year’s union budget has Cleared the priorities of government and it has drawn a roadmap for the development of industry and wealth creators of the country. Speaking at a function ‘Kashi Ek, Roop Anek’ a cultural arts and handicrafts extravaganza at Deen Dayal Hastkala Sankul PM said, government is providing technical support and global exposure to traditional handicrafts and art product of country which have always been our strength and will play an important role in achieving the goal of 5 trillion economy.

    On his day-long visit to his Parliamentary Constituency today,  Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 50 development projects worth more than rupees 1200 crore. He also flagged off the Kashi Mahakaal Express to link Varanasi, Ujjain and Omkareshwar, and dedicated to the nation the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Memorial Centre.
    At Padav area of Chandauli district, Prime Minister also unveiled the 63 feet Statue of Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya. This is the largest statue of the leader in the country. Addressing a gathering on this occasion at Padav PM said that the central government is working on the principles of Deen Dayal Upadhyay and doing all efforts for the development of the last person of the society.

    The projects which PM launch today includes a 430-bed super speciality Government hospital, a 74-bed psychiatry hospital and Centre for Vedic Research at Kashi Hindu Vishwavidyalaya (BHU). PM Modi also inaugurated the Chaukaghat Lehartara Overbridge in the city which will ease the traffic near the railway station. ANNASHETRA, the community kitchen of Kashi Vishwanath Temple was also inaugurated by the Prime Minister.

    Prime Minister also participated in the Closing Ceremony of the Centenary Celebrations of Shri Jagadguru Vishwaradhya Gurukul. He released the translated version of the Shri Siddhant Shikhamani Granth in 19 languages and launched a mobile app of the Granth. Chief Minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa also attended the ceremony. PM said at the Function that our nation has been created not by power but by the culture and ability of our people.
    AIR correspondent reports that 2 day long Kashi Ek Roop Anek’ exhibition was inaugurated by PM at Deen Dayal Hastkala Sankul and Vinay Sahastrabudhe will attend the valedictory function.

    AIR correspondent reports, Uttar Pradesh has a total of 26 handicrafts and other products with GI, Geographical Indicator tag out of which 11 comes from Varanasi division only. The exhibition showcases the unique and famous products of the state which include Black rice, Metal artwork, black pottery and wooden work products along with the traditional handicraft of Varanasi. On this occasion, PM distributes tool kit and cheques of loan under ODOP scheme to the Artisans and Weavers. LED-based Solar light system was also given to many Weavers.  Buyers and artisans from different countries of the world including America, Canada, England and Australia have reached to take part in the two-day exhibition.
