    Published on May 15, 2019

St. Louis, Mo.:  POWERS Insurance & Risk Management, one of the largest family owned and operated independent insurance agencies in St. Louis, recently announced the addition of its Private Client Division.

Personal Risk Advisor Meaghan Dowd will lead the new division, which is part of the firm’s Emerging Risks Division program, as well as oversee a team of three of the company’s personal lines specialists.  Dowd was one of the first 500 professionals in the insurance industry to earn the Chartered Private Risk and Insurance Advisor (CPRIA) accreditation. The CPRIA designation is an intensive program designed to enhance the knowledge of professionals who craft tailored personal insurance solutions for their clients. Dowd began her insurance career in 2009 and has been with POWERS Insurance since 2015.

POWERS Insurance launched its Emerging Risks Division in March of 2019.  The division was created to show the agency’s commitment in protecting risk in emerging commercial lines industries that are aligned with cyber, technology, cannabis, and green energy.  Company President JD Powers recently determined the need to acknowledge the Private Client Division as an emerging risk that is impacting the personal insurance space.

“The focus of our Emerging Risks Division is to help guide our clients through the rapidly-evolving insurance space which is directly tied to the unprecedented fast-paced economy that’s heavily dependent on technology,” Powers said. “The mass affluent personal insurance marketplace is one of the industry’s fastest-growing sectors, and we are proud to have our Private Client Division poised to assist those clients as they navigate the ever-changing exposures they will face.”

The Private Client Division is designed to craft solutions for the personal lifestyles of successful individuals and families.  POWERS Insurance will partner with several insurance companies that specialize in providing this specific coverage including CHUBB, PURE, Cincinnati Insurance Company, and Nationwide Private Client.  According to JD Powers, the Private Client Division will “account for roughly 75% of all new personal insurance managed by the agency.”
