“We welcome the much awaited guidelines on commodity options. These guidelines were drafted after consultation with a wide spectrum of market participants and so they broadly address the wishes and concerns of all stakeholder groups. Moreover, the features relating to the product design, such as the choice of underlying, will ensure that the commodity options would operate on a strong foundation. After a due process of consultation with the stakeholders, we shall decide on the commodity on which we would launch our first option product, as also its contract specification features.”
