In a bid to promote inclusive work culture, Realty Assistant, a real estate advisory firm becomes the first in the real estate sector to introduce FOP (First day of Periods) policy, giving leave to the employees during their menstruating days.

The initiative is revolutionary in itself as it imparts structure to the industry otherwise deemed unorganized. Having a diverse employee base with generous number of 45-50 of women employees, the initiative by Realty Assistant builds a work culture that understands and appreciates womanhood, and the framing of policies extends the much-needed support to working women from the system. Realty Assistant has designated 12 leaves in a calendar year.

Ankit Aditya Pradhan, the Founder and CEO of Realty Assistant said, “Women are a valuable asset to our organization. They perfectly don the role of managers and can even multitask flawlessly. We realized the need to provide them with ideal working environment to realize their potential to the fullest.”

The FOP policy has multifaceted welfare approach as it not only acknowledges the physical distress but also caters to the mental well-being of the person, considering that during periods the individual undergoes certain amount of distress.

In addition to incorporating period leave, the firm has always stood firm in its endeavour to protect the employee interests and has made certain amendments to ensure employee welfare during the difficult times of COVID-19. For the complete realization of the initiative, 100 percent salary was paid to the employees to support the entire organization during unprecedented times.
