  • Chennai : Sri City, South India’s largest Integrated Business City consisting of a Special Economic Zone, Domestic Tariff Zone and Free Trade Warehousing Zone today announced the inauguration of Sri City – Sankara Nethralaya, an Inauguration piceye hospital, a unit of medical research foundation, Chennai. This was inaugurated by Dr. M Y S Prasad, Scientist & Director, Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR in the presence of Prof. P S Manisundaram, First Principal of R.E.C./N.I.T., Trichy & First Vice Chancellor of Bharathidasan University, Padma Bhushan Dr. S S Badrinath, Chairman Emeritus, Medical Research Foundation and Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City.

    Commenting on the inauguration, Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City said, “We would like to extend our warmest welcome to Sankara Nethralaya to Sri City. Our aim is to provide medical care at an affordable cost to the people of the region and the employees of the industries in Sri City.”

    This hospital will have Tele-ophthalmology and Mobile Refraction Van that takes quality eye care to the doorsteps of people living in this region.

    He further added, “One of the challenges of any developed economy rests in its ability to provide world-class healthcare, we at Sri City believe Sankara Nethralaya will strive hard to provide the best healthcare to the people of this region”.

    Sri City – Sankara Nethralaya will begin offering its services from 15th April 2013. They will move to their world class hospital and research facility once it is ready, the new facility will be spread across 10 acres in Sri City.

    The Chief Guest, Dr. MYS Prasad said “Treating eyes increases the chances of people to increase their knowledge and this will benefit the region and Sri City”

    Guest of Honor, Prof. Mani Sundaram added “It is very nice to see that people around Sri City are part of its development and sets an example for an integrated development”.

    Chairman Emeritus of Sankara Nethralaya Dr. S S Badrinath said “we will reach quality eye care even to the remote parts of this region and Sri City will soon be the base for our research facility”.
