The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange slipped 39 points, or 0.2 percent, to 19,008, today. The benchmark index was dragged down especially by IT stocks, after Wipro’s quarterly results disappointed, and by weak Asian bourses. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange fell 15 points, or 0.3 percent, to 5,697.

Other markets in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea shed between 0.5 percent and 1.7 percent.
