Chennai : One of the most established names in the publishing industry currently, Mr. Sesh Seshadri, Director, Lonely Planet India was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for his indispensable contribution to the Indian publishing industry spanning over four decades. Mr. Seshadri was presented the award by Joint Commissioner Thirunanam at the 37^th edition of the Chennai Book Fair on 10^th January 2014.

Delighted at being honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, the veteran publisher Mr. Sesh Seshadri said, “My sincere thanks to BAPASI for this award; I feel extremely grateful. Having begun my publishing journey in 1972, I have had the great opportunity to experience the evolution of this dynamic industry over more than 40 years. Change is inevitable; from earlier being publisher-driven, the industry trends are now being dictated by the consumers and their habits. So yes, we need to adapt to e-books, applications and other form of digital delivery. But the content has not undergone change; it’s the delivery method that has developed.” 

As the Director of Lonely Planet India, Mr. Sesh Seshadri played a vital role in Lonely Planet’s entry into the Indian market and continues to create a sustained and successful presence for the brand in India. Chennai-born Sesh Seshadri also established publishing consulting company O.V.E.R.L.E.A.F. in 1997 which passionately works towards furnishing classrooms with quality learning and providing world class teaching resources. Furthermore, he was the Founder Director at Textech that specializes in providing academic solutions in the form of books and e-books. He was previously associated with Oxford University Press (OUP) for over 25 years until 1997, and has also worked with Dorling Kindersley India serving as Executive Director.
