    Published on October 1, 2010

Singapore:-An analysis by SingaporeSetup.com of various international ranking reports released in 2010 shows that Singapore has consistently earned a top spot in all such reports reaffirming the country’s role as a key business hub in Asia and beyond. This stellar performance in various rankings is likely to reinforce the confidence of foreign investors who may be planning to set up a company in Singapore and leverage on various business benefits the country has to offer, predicts www.SingaporeSetup.com.
Ever since the World Bank’s ‘2010 Ease of Doing Business Report’ declared Singapore as the ‘World’s Easiest Place to do Business’, the country has been on a roll in various business rankings and emerging as a preeminent business destination not only in Asia but the entire world.
According to Ms. Catherine Lee, a senior editorial board member of the Singapore incorporation web portal SingaporeSetup.com, “Singapore’s splendid performance in recent international rankings demonstrates the nation’s excellence as compared to over 100 major economies of the world. Rankings are a critical and unique tool for understanding the business dynamism of a country. In a way, rankings promote entrepreneurship as they help identify disparities between jurisdictions and aid in making an informed choice on the best business jurisdiction for foreign investment and business expansion”.
The IMD World Competitiveness Yearbook named Singapore as the ‘Most Competitive Economy’ this year while the World Economic Forum revealed that Singapore’s economy is the ‘Most Open to Trade’ among 125 economies worldwide. Canadian think-tank Fraser Institute and US based Heritage Foundation consider Singapore as the second freest economy in the world. French global credit insurer Coface, named Singapore as the least risky place for business in Southeast Asia. Singapore has also been consistently lauded for its labor force. BERI’s ‘Labor Force Evaluation Measure’ has ranked Singapore’s labor’s force as #1 in the world for over a decade. Singapore has also emerged as a top scorer for offering the best quality of life in Asia in surveys conducted by Mercer and ECA International. Gallup’s recently published ‘Potential Net Migration Index’ indicates that Singapore is the world’s most desirable immigration hot-spot.
Further analysis of the country reports unveils that Singapore has been a top performer in most parameters including tax environment, Intellectual Property protection regime, labor market efficiency, financial market sophistication, technological readiness, government efficiency, quality of infrastructure, trade regulations, ease of business setup, regulatory environment, and quality of life.
“As the Singapore brand gains global recognition, more foreign businesses are keen to explore how to setup a business presence in Singapore. Having emerged as the best country to work, live, and play Singapore is brimming with business opportunities and there is a strong likelihood of a spike in the number of Singapore company registrations in the months to come”, added Ms. Lee.
