LG Electronics, the consumer durable giant, today announced a major change in its top-most management profile in India. Mr. Soon H Kwon will replace Mr. Moon B Shin as the new Managing Director of LG Electronics India. Mr. Shin is taking over as the Global Head – Sales & Marketing, Home Appliances at Seoul, South Korea– LG Electronics headquarters.

Prior to this, Mr. Soon H Kwon was the Global Head, LG Electronics Business Solutions. One of the top contributors to LG’s international business for over 25 years, Mr. Kwon has been responsible for the company’s growing revenue and building LG Business Solutions Company as a leading B2B supplier.

Mr. Kwon served as the Managing Director at LGE Australia in 2009, a significant driver to its market leadership, sales and brand growth in the continent. His earlier stints within LG Electronics include as the Corporate Marketing Vice-President in Korea (he was in charge of overseas marketing), and senior positions in the US and Canada markets.

Mr. Shin has been a great leader who has created incredible benchmarks for us at LG India. The tenure of the outgoing LG India Managing Director, Moon B Shin, has been significant in not only building brand-consumer relationship but also in sustained leadership across categories. Mr Shin spent considerable time in understanding the Indian culture and sentiments, and equipping himself with the insights, that helped LG India in meeting consumer demands. In spite of the economic downturn, LG Electronics India has achieved phenomenal success under his leadership and has become a strategic market leader. This remarkable growth has earned India the status of South West Asia region from December 1, a strategic move to enhance LG’s business focus.
