  • IMG_1151Chennai : Realising  the fact that combination of advanced manufacturing technologies from Japan and highly skilled talent pool from India has the potential to create an enviable partnership that carves its unique space in the global manufacturing supply chain, business leaders in Japan  consider India as the ‘right choice’ for investment. In this direction, Japan’s leading trade & business organizations  M/s Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun and M/s Sun & Sands Consultants, with the cooperation of Indian Embassy, organised an investment seminar on the theme ‘Investment in India – the key to success’, on December 3,  2014, at the premises of Indian Embassy in Tokyo, Japan.

    Mr. Amit Kumar, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India inaugurated the seminar and extended a warm invitation to the Japanese Inc., for investing in India. The discussions and deliberations during the seminar focused on setting up of  manufacturing plants and their expansion in India, cooperation of experts in various fields, land issues, licensing procedures, local partners etc.,

    Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City, who gave a lecture in the seminar,  explained the ease of doing business in Andhra Pradesh and highlighted the world-class infrastructure and  some of the unique features of Sri City, such as strategic location, multi-modal connectivity, ready built factories and country specific enclaves, social infrastructure, etc.,

    Stating that it is a unique gateway for business opportunities in diverse sectors, Mr. Sannareddy said,” Since inception, Sri City has been evoking great interest amongst the international business community, and  today it has emerged as a highly recommended investment destination by leading investment consultants worldwide. Several multi national companies from 25 countries across the globe, from Japan to the US, have already preferred us.”

    “We have 15 companies from Japan and we have created a special enclave for them addressing their specific needs,” he added.

    Mr. Yasukuni Enoki, Former Ambassador of Japan in India gave a talk on land acquisition issues in India. Among others who spoke include Mr. Fujisaki Teruo, former President, Honda Ciel, Mr.  Kazuyoshi, Former president, Nissei ASB, Mr. Vivek Kohli, founder of ZEUS law firm,  Mr. Ogawa Koken, Partner, Kojima international law firm, and Mr. Tanaka Shochi , Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu LLC .  They all shared their experience about Indian Government policies, business opportunities, working environment and their relations with Indian companies. Their presentations gave valuable information to the prospective investors.

    Over 100 delegates attended the seminar, including several top industrialists, entrepreneurs and business leaders. The event received overwhelming response from the business community in Japan.
