HANOVER, MA: Sensible Medical (http://sensiblemedical.net), a Hanover, MA distributor of medical grade air purification systems for hospitals, clinics and offices, announced today that Steve Boutin will lead the company as its Chief Executive Officer.
In this role, he will oversee the Sensible Medical effort to market the company’s clean air solutions which are aimed at stepping up the fight against COVID-19.
One of the company’s signature products in this mission is the portable JADE Commercial Air Purifier, a medical grade air system which has the capacity to exchange room air up to 20 times per hour, thereby exceeding both EPA and CDC guidelines. The JADE further captures and contains nano-sized aerosolized particulates which can carry the SARS CoV-2 Virus responsible for COVID-19. The portable purification system is ideal for use in medical facilities, commercial buildings, and offices.
Boutin is the former CEO of KidSense, a company that developed and patented a portable activity device created to help motivate hospitalized children to use their fine motor skills and mental acuity. The patented Fun Case Lap Table and interchangeable magnetic board game and dry erase plates, which was beta tested in the post anesthesia care unit at both Boston Children’s Hospital and Mass General Hospital.
From 2002 to 2013, Boutin was a Regional Manager/Clinical Specialist for the Northeast USA and Canada with Surgical Specialties, Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, in the Ophthalmic arena.
This involved new surgical device development working with corneal surgeons in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers to optimize patient outcomes utilizing instrumentation with donor corneal transplant tissue.
His current venture came as the result of collaboration with his business partners with a mission of providing the medical and business community solutions to battle the SARS viruses now and in the future, along with other airborne threats.
He says that the need has never been more urgent for a solution like the portable JADE Clean Air System. “While some of the rise in COVID-19 cases may be attributed to people not following protocols, the bigger issue is that most buildings do not sufficiently purify their air. Specifically their air purification systems do not capture these nano-micro sized aerosolized particulates that can remain airborne for up to 16 hours.” He said that there is confirmed scientific evidence that COVID-19 can be spread through these aerosolized particulates, which are approximately 100 times smaller than bacteria.
The Westfield, MA native resides in Hanover with his wife Sally. The two of them are active in their community, and the Hanover Food Pantry in particular. Sally serves as president of the Hanover Food Pantry.
In his leisure time, he enjoys playing golf and downhill skiing, while enjoying his family and seven grandchildren.
