  • Synchrony supports ‘Aao Khelein’ – a sports initiative of Nayi Disha for children with developmental disabilities

    Hyderabad:  Synchrony, a premier consumer financial services company delivering customized financing programs supported Aao  Khelein – a sports initiative for children with developmental disabilities. The event was organized by Nayi Disha Resource Centre to commemorate the World Disability Day and to create awareness about intellectual and developmental disabilities.

    During the event, children with special needs across different age groups participated in various sports and displayed their prowess. Aao Khelein also served as a forum to raise awareness about disabilities and encourage a dialogue about inclusion and diversity. Mr.  Andy Ponneri Senior Vice President,   Operations India, Synchrony, Mr. Ramesh Kambhampati, Finance Leader, India site, Synchrony, Mr. Shyam Kudari, Legal Head and People with Disabilities Network Hub Leader, Synchrony, Venkat T, Assistant Vice President, Physical Security & CSR Head Synchrony, M M Pallam Raju Former Union Minister HRD Govt of India along with other leaders and volunteers from Synchrony joined the Nayi Disha team, parent volunteers, schools, other NGO representatives and families at the event.

    According to Mr. Faisal Uddin Senior Vice President, International Operations and Business Leader – Asia, Synchrony, “At Synchrony, we believe in caring for our customers, employees and the communities in which we operate. We are excited to support Nayi Disha in organizing Aao Khelein and hope this event will help to spread awareness about the importance of inclusiveness.”

    Synchrony’s Diversity Networks further promote an inclusive culture that celebrates individuality and fosters collaboration. In Hyderabad, Synchrony has more than 125 people with disabilities – the majority of whom were hired as part of the People with Disabilities Network initiative. The company was awarded the prestigious Helen Keller Award (November 2016) and Telangana State Formation Day Award (June 2017) in recognition of their outstanding work in providing jobs and equal growth opportunities to people with disabilities. Synchrony was also ranked Number 1 on the FLO Gender Parity Index 2018 which evaluates gender diversity and empowerment of women in corporate India.
