  • Tanya’ The Achiever – Brave girl overcomes a serious illness, tops IGSE at Jamnabai Narsee School,Mumbai

    Tanya Raj Wankawalla, DOB 6th November 1996, Topped Jamnabai Narsee School in IGCSE securing 94 % in 10th Standard. She got stars in all the subjects.

    Tanya has been an achiever till date.  Starting as early as 5 years when she won the  Trophy for under 5 girls swimming championship.

    A much diversified personality excelling in all round performances whereby she has achieved various distinctions in sports & cultural activities.

    Currently in her 10th Std. she was the caption of her school & it was under her leadership that her house won the cultural cup.  She also was a part of the basket ball & throw ball team. Along with this she also is focusing on her final stage performance (manchpravesh) in odissi dance under her guru Jheman tai. Her manch pravesh is scheduled for feb 2013.

    This brave girl over came a serious illness due to which she was hospitalized just before her last 2 papers – Biology & Chemistry.

    Even in the hospital bed she called for books for final revisions.

    Tanya always believed in understanding the concepts more clearly rather than mugging up.  This concept of hers helped her in balancing her studies & her extra curricular activities.

    Tanya is a teachers pet.  Her teachers played very major role in guiding & motivating her & constantly reminding her of her capabilities.

    Her father Raj Wankawalla is running a business & mother Rani Wankawalla running her playgroup nursery. Both the parents were actively involved in her studies.

    Her mother has been her backbone in planning her studies & her father used to have interesting interacting debates/discussions on her study matter which helped her to get her concepts clearer.
