  • Thiruvananthapuram : R.R.D Cobras defeated U.S.T in an exciting match in the Technopark Premier League 2020 finals. The tournament that began in January 2020, was brought to a standstill due to the Covid-19. The tournament was reinstated as part of the Technopark initiation which created an exuberant response from the staff. Alliance White, R.R.D Cobras, Alliance Blue, and U.S.T advanced to the semi-finals of the 150-team tournament. U.S.T defeated Alliance Blue by seven wickets in the first semi-finals to reach the finals. In the second semi-finals, R.R.D Cobras reached the finals by defeating Alliance White by seven wickets. R.R.D Cobras snatched the victory from U.S.T in the finale which lasted until the last ball.

    Batting first, U.S.T scored 68 runs for the loss of seven wickets. R.R.D Cobras won by six wickets with Sreenil Raj (27 off 9 balls) leading the way in the second batting. Sreenil Raj and Sarath Menon led R.R.D to victory with a target of 13 runs in the last over.

    The prizes were awarded by John M Thomas, CEO, Kerala IT Parks to the winners of the Technopark Premier League 2020. Technopark IR & Admin Manager Abhilash D S, and Tournament coordinators Pramod and Pradeep were present at the award ceremony. G S Vaishakh of R.R.D Cobras was titled the ‘Player of the Tournament. Arun Sasikumar (Alliance White) was adjudged the best bowler, Shalin C Raj (Ernst & Young) was adjudged the best batsman, Sreenil Raj (RRD Cobras) was adjudged the man of the match, and Sivakumar (H&R Block) was adjudged the best performer (120 runs in eight overs). The tournament is organized by the Murugan Cricket Club, Thiruvananthapuram.
