  • The 7th edition of designer Maheka Mirpuri’s annual charity gala

    Mumbai: The 7th edition of designer Maheka Mirpuri’s annual charity gala & fundraiser for Tata Memorial Hospital was a spectacular show with the guests making generous donations to the cause of treatment of underprivileged cancer patients . While John Abraham was the guest of honour, Sunny Leone was the host for the evening’s proceedings. TV actor Karan Wahi helmed the live auction with the guests bidding for art, watch, jewellery, ensembles & destinations. Seen at the gala were Jackie Shroff, Ramesh Sippy & Kiron Joneja, Preeti Jhangiani, Ritu Shivpuri, Madhoo, Suchitra Krishnamurthi, Mohammad & Lucky Noorani, Raell Padamsee, Schauna Chauhan & Bikram Saluja, Tanaaz & Chirag Doshi, Sudhanshu Pandey amongst others.

     

    John abraham adds “Maheka is a very dear friend and I m here to support her for the great work shes doing. Many people loose thier life through cancer due to insufficient of Money they dont get proper treatment, but here the money raised will help the needy”.

    Sunny adds “Im very happy to be part of this wonderful cause, Cancer treatment is a bottomless pit. It is hard on the patients fighting this deadly disease & therefore I feel each one of us should come forward & do whatever we can in our capacity to help the underprivileged. I’m proud to be a part of an event that hits home for me. My father passed away from cancer. My father was not able to pull through from cancer but I hope the money raised will save someone life.

     

    Designer Maheka Mirpuri says, “I lost my father and brother-in-law to cancer in the span of just one year. The realisation that fighting cancer is such a huge financial drain got me thinking of how difficult it must be for the less privileged to fight this disease & prompted me to set up MCan, a foundation that raises money for patients fighting cancer at Tata Memorial hospital. The MCan foundation has been established with the single minded purpose of enriching the human experience with hope, strength and joy & to help patients who were not only dejected from medication and hospitalization, but also aware that their life span was decreasing.“
