The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) participated in Intermodal India 2012, organized by UBM India Pvt. Ltd. It was a unique event that took place for the first time in India from 25-27 September 2012. The three day-exhibition with concurrent conference was inaugurated on September 25th 2012 at the Bombay Convention & Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. It was one of the definitive integrated thought leadership events covering international trade, logistics, transportation and cargo handling.

The event was attended by Mr. S. Hajara, CMD, SCI along with other notable dignitaries from the industry including Mr. G. Chaukiyal, Member Operations, AAI; Mr. HD Gujrati, Executive Director/TT(S) Railway Board, Mr. NN Kumar, Dy. Chairman, JNPT along with Mr. Michael Duck, EVP UBM Asia; Mr. Sanjeev Khaira, MD for UBM.

The SCI stall was visited by a large number of people and got a very good response. Apart from the exhibit, the event also saw a host of knowledge sharing sessions conducted in association with experts from different fields in the logistics industry. The seminar addressed trends, opportunities, challenges, and overall outlook of this sector. Mr. S. Hajara was one of the key speakers who presented his thoughts on international trade, logistics, transportation and cargo handling. Other speakers also spoke about Effective intermodal integration, Air cargo handling and Cold chain management etc.
