Mumbai : DOLNA, the online gallery offering a global platform to artistes, will be winding its festive counter on 16th January 2014. Connoisseurs of art now have just a few days left to wander through the corridors of this cybernetic exposition and choose from imagethe hand-picked collection. Spirit of Festivity is a one-of-its-kind initiative by Dolna – a movement to create awareness about art and an attempt to incorporate art into various aspects of our life.

Over a period spanning a month, the Spirit of Festivity has successfully showcased the works of over 70 artistes drawn from across the country. The collection is a mélange of eminent artists including Bose Krishnamachari, Shuvaprasanna Bhattacharya, Shobha Broota to promising artists such as Paramesh Paul, Arun Kumar Sammader and Umakant Tawde.

The virtual showcase drew interest and viewers from regions as far-flung as Germany, Canada, the United States, The United Kingdom, Bangladesh, the UAE, Sri Lanka, France, Singapore, Japan and Australia. Speaking about the success of Spirit of Festivity, Mithu Basu, founder – DOLNA said, “This was our maiden attempt at curating a collection reflecting the festive mood of the season. And the overwhelming response to it is encouraging, indeed. Our experiences from the showcase have equipped us to further the engagement as we expand our footprint in the world of art.”

Kishore Roy, whose work was exhibited and sold through the showcase, said, “Dolna’s initiatives and presentation of concepts have always been unique. As artistes, our joy stems from recognition as also seeing our work adorn the walls of our patrons. Spirit of Festivity has beautifully amalgamated both these for artistes like me and I look forward to the next edition.’
