    Jaipur :  NIMS University Rajasthan has made history as the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Petr Fiala visited the institution on January 11, 2024. This remarkable occasion signifies the first visit of a foreign prime minister to an Indian university, putting emphasis on the importance of international collaboration that revolves around education, technology, and sciences.

    In a moment of recognition, NIMS University stands tall and receives high praise from Czech PM Petr Fiala, who commended NIMS University for its outstanding efforts in international  Cooperation and the quality of education it strives to achieve and highlighted the university’s initiative in upholding the principles that bring to light its commitment to science, innovation, and education.

    The Prime minister acknowledged the historic significance of this visit, calling attention to the breakthrough in political and educational relations between the Czech Republic and India. The decision of Prime Minister Petr Fiala to visit NIMS University was lauded as more than a mere diplomatic formality but as a symbol of recognition for the educational and technological advancements achieved by Indian institutions. He underlined the mutual commitment of both nations to strengthen ties and collaborations that rise above geographical boundaries, nurturing a shared future of innovation, knowledge exchange, and cultural understanding.

    Nims University bestowed the prestigious Doctorate of Literature (D.Litt.) upon Petr Fiala  in recognition of his unwavering commitment to advancing education and contributing significantly to the betterment of society. This esteemed award is also a tribute to his outstanding accomplishments in the fields of Humanities, Social Science, Geo-Politics, Innovation-Research, and Internationalization.

    In a momentous event marking a new chapter in global research and innovation, the Czech Prime Minister, Petr Fiala, officiated the stone-laying ceremony for the ‘Petr Fiala Global Institute of Health Research Innovation.’ under the aegis of Balvir Singh Tomar University of Health Sciences. This groundbreaking institute, named in honor of the Prime Minister, is set to become a beacon of excellence in health research, leveraging cutting-edge technology and fostering international collaboration.

    The prime minister also expressed confidence in the transformative impact of the Petr Fiala Global Institute. He said, “The Petr Fiala Global Institute, with its diverse approach spanning biomedical research, health systems analysis, modern medical technologies, public health studies, and clinical trials, will expand the medical and health-related research setting for one and all. This vision marks a significant stride towards the beginning of a new era of progressive healthcare solutions for the well-being of our community.”

    Adding to the significance of the occasion, a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Marik Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, and Cybernetics of Nims University and the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics, and Cybernetics for the European Union (EU) Project. This strategic collaboration seeks to propel advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics and cybernetics, fostering an exchange of knowledge and expertise between the two esteemed institutions.

    Prof. (Dr.) Balvir S. Tomar radiantly expressed his joy and enthusiasm saying, “This is a celebration of collaboration, shared values, and the boundless potential for global impact. We are putting greater emphasis on knowledge acquisition and the diverse educational opportunities at NIMS University, offering in-person, online, or hybrid approaches in foreign countries that stand as a spectator to excellence in education that will shape futures across borders.”

    The occasion was honored by an esteemed assembly comprising individuals with diverse expertise and leadership roles. Apart from Petr Fiala, gracing the event as the Chief Guest, notable figures such as Dr. Eliska Zigova, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to India, Tomáš Pojar, the National Security Advisor, and Jiří Kozák, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, contributed their wealth of strategic insights and diplomatic experience. The event played host to Petra Fojtikova, the Director-General of the Prime Minister’s Office; Václav Smolka, the Government Spokesman and Director of the Department of Communication; and Barbora Škápíková, the Director of the Department of Protocol, bringing administrative refinement to the occasion.

    The esteemed presence of Jiří Volák from the Foreign Relations Unit further enhanced the international significance of the event. From the healthcare sector, Miloslav Ludvík, the Director of Motol Hospital, provided invaluable perspectives. The event also witnessed the attendance of Vladimír Mařík, Director of the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics, and Cybernetics, and Ondřej Velek from the Czech Institute of Informatics. Additionally, Petr Hájek from the Department of Architectural Engineering at the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Czech Technical University, will offer insights into the intersection of technology and infrastructure. This diverse gathering of leaders and experts promises a multifaceted and enriching episode.

    The Closing address of Peter Fiala expressed sincere wishes for continued success among the two nations in acknowledging their role in shaping the future of education, healthcare, and international collaborations.
