  • Toyota Kirloskar Motor celebrates Road Safety Week in Ramanagaram

    New Delhi: Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), commenced its programme aimed at creating awareness on road traffic safety among school children, as a part of the Road Safety Week in Ramanagaram. The Road Safety Week is a yearly programme held by The Traffic Police Department. To further this cause, every year TKM joins hands with the Traffic Police Department, in this noble endeavor.

    The programme implemented by TKM will include several activities like

    painting and drawing competitions, quiz on road safety,

    an animation film – A seven minute animation film uses the popular mass medium of communication to get the message on road safety to the students.

    a visit to the traffic park that simulates the actual road traffic

    traffic safety games that educates school children on traffic safety through fun and learning. The games include puzzles, card games and board games

    A traffic kiosk has been put up by TKM in Ijoor Circle, Ramanagaram. The kiosk displays slogans and pictures to educate school students. An LCD TV has also been installed to create awareness through the animation film. The kiosk was inaugurated by Mr. S.B Bisnalli, SP, Ramanagaram Police Department and TKM representative Mr. N N Vishwanath, General Manager, External Affairs & Corporate Social Responsibility Division. Also present on the occasion were Mr. M G Ramkrishnaiah, Dy SP, Ramanagaram Police Department and Mr. Mallikarjuna Kappattanavar, Manager, Security Division,TKM.

    Similar yearly programmes are carried out by TKM in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata and Bangalore in association with the city’s Traffic Police Dept. Road Safety Week is observed in the month of January across India with the aim to spread awareness among adults and children on road safety measures. As a part of its other CSR initiatives TKM has been implementing the Toyota Safety Education Programme (TSEP) – aimed at creating awareness about traffic safety among children. This year alone the programme will target 1, 00,000 students across five cities. TSEP was launched as a pilot project in 2007 in Bangalore followed by its launch, in 2008, across metro cities namely Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. Since then more than 2,00,000 school children have been educated under this programme.
