  • As the name suggests, ‘Tram Experience’ aims to offer a gastronomic and touristic experience that is unmatched anywhere in the world. Guests will be able to enjoy several classic dishes of Belgian gastronomy while travelling along some of the Region’s most attractive roads, seated inside a vehicle with a white, sleek and modern decor.

The train accommodates 34 seats given out on the basis of prior reservations.  The ride starts at Place Poelaert and the trip lasts for about two hours.

The menus will be drawn up by reputed Belgian chefs and constantly renewed by them to showcase specialty dished out with the seasonal produce. Offered at an all inclusive price of Euros 75 per person that includes an aperitif and a three-course meal.

This unique initiative of VISITBRUSSELS was part of Brusselicious, the 2012 Year of Gastronomy. Thanks to the success it enjoyed in 2012, Tram Experience is to be re-launched this spring! STIB/MIVB, the Brussels public transport company, is part of this unique experience by arranging Tram and other staff and infrastructure facilities for this occasion. Electrolux is contributing to the outfitting of the tram and its equipment, as well as development of the culinary project.

Online ticket sales will be available during March, as well as all practical information – such as the chefs responsible for creating the dishes, the menus, prices and timetables can be found out using the site www.visitbrussels.be.

High-ranking Belgian chefs have been asked to prepare new versions of traditional Belgian dishes, with a focus on high-quality local produce and seasonal ingredients.
