  • New Delhi : Trucknetic, India’s first digital platform to book all kinds of trucks has completed three years of offering end-to-end logistics solutions and simplifying operations for the industry.

Founded in 2019, the Delhi-based start-up provides an Uber-like service for trucks and is helping to streamline India’s notoriously inefficient logistics industry by creating a unique marketplace connecting shippers and carriers for the front and return loads using AI-ML, analytics, and associated technologies. Putting more stars in its sky, Trucknetic has proven its mettle in a highly competitive industry.

In just three years of its journey, Trucknetic has been acknowledged and appreciated immensely for its unique model that could be path-breaking for the Indian logistics industry.

It is India’s first online transport and logistics company to solve the laborious phone calls and emails encountered by shippers and carriers on a daily basis. The start-up’s mission is to bring greater efficiency and connectivity to reduce the cost of logistics in India.

Throwing light on the company’s 3rd anniversary and its new vision, Arham Pratap Jain, Founder & CTO, of Trucknetic said, “The three years journey has been nothing short of a revelation of the immense possibilities and things that we could achieve. It has helped the team to deep dive and solve the pressing challenges and requirements of every client. Our belief in the power of medium and small businesses of India and their ideas has brought us to where we are and we strongly believe that they can help us and the nation grow immensely in the coming years. We are ever thankful to every stakeholder for their continued trust and support in Trucknetic and its vision.”

The launch of the National Logistics Policy (NLP) has been welcomed by Arham. He said that the most important part of the policy is the integration of technology and the launch of a single window e-logistics marketplace that will relieve the stress of shipment allocations and offer businesses more control over their supply chain.

“The single window logistics platform will enable smart, proactive decision-making and promote the ‘ease of doing business for various industry players. As we go forward it will be interesting to witness the increased use of automation and AI/ML solutions embedded into the platform to streamline first-mile to last-mile optimization and ensure error-free, rapid, and efficient dispatches,” Arham added.

Arham announced that in the coming years, the online trucking platform will be adopting Electric Vehicles as a service (EVaas) and reduce its carbon footprint which is aligned with PM Modi’s promise to cut the emissions to net zero by 2070 – missing a key goal of the COP26 summit for countries to commit to reaching that target by 2050.

He said, “Fuel-led vehicles will eventually become a thing of the past and we need to switch to EVs quickly for the prevalence of EVs and their infrastructure. EVs are the future due to the advantages it has over its counterparts.”

NITI Aayog reports that the cost of logistics in India could come down to as low as 4 percent of the country’s GDP. This will lead to major savings for the economy by 2030. Last-mile mobility has a huge EV penetration opportunity. Fast deployment of EVs needs a comparable ramp-up of key enablers like subsidy and ease of financing etc.

Trucknetic has a network of close to 200,000 fleet owners and 50,000 transporters which roughly translates to over 1 million trucks in its network. It has done a revenue of USD 3.5 million since December 2019. The company has about 1 lakh downloads on the Trucknetic Carrier application and 1 lakh+ downloads on the Trucknetic Shipper application and has moved close to 100,000 metric tonnes of goods.

Trucknetic aims to become the largest Trucking company in India without owning a single truck by 2025. The platform is highly diversified across commodities, truck types, and lanes.

The company provides a digital platform and mobile solution for the freight shipping industry. It aims to bring efficiency and visibility to the shipping and logistics sector, modernize operations across various supply chains and contribute to the government’s Ease of Doing Business in India.
