  • TVS Motor Company registers 14% growth in July ’11 sales

    Bangalore:  TVS Motor Company has registered an increase of 14% in sales during the month of July 2011. Consistent demand across all segments has enabled total sales of 189,962 units in July 2011 against 166,214 units in the corresponding month of the previous year. Growth in domestic sales as well as exports was witnessed in both two wheeler and three wheeler segments.

    The company’s cumulative sales for the months of April to July 2011 grew by 15% with sales of 726,092 units against 630,054 units recorded in the previous comparable period.

    Two Wheeler

    Total two wheeler sales grew by 14% with sales of 186,672 units in July 2011 in comparison with 163,106 units recorded in July 2010.

    Scooter sales increased by 22% with sales of 49,333 units, compared to 40,357 units recorded in July 2010. Motorcycles grew by 15% accounting for 70,170 units in July 2011 as against 61,051 units in July 2010.

    Domestic two wheeler sales of the company reported a growth of 12% with sales of 160,348 units in July 2011 against 143,039 units reported in July 2010.

    Exports

    Exports grew by 34% recording total sales of 28,542 units in July 2011 as against 21,273 units in the same month of the previous year. The company exported 26,324 units of two wheelers in July 2011 in comparison with 20,067 units in July 2010, an increase of 31%.

    Three Wheeler

    In July 2011, the company sold 3,290 units of three wheelers as against 3,108 units in the comparable month of the previous year, a growth of 6%. Cumulative three wheeler sales for the months of April and July 2011 stood at 14,713 units.
